The last few months have flown past so fast in some ways and have been very slow in others. It seems like Christmas was just yesterday but the sale of our home seems slow. This is discouraging. A while ago my morning and evening devotions from 2 different sources, came to the same verses; Philippians 4:4-7. “Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This was the encouragement we neded to get into the right focus. God’s timing is always perfect; therefore, we have peace that our house will sell, at the right time, to the right person, at the right price and we will find a new place for us.
By the time you read this letter I will have finished the course I was taking through Tyndale. It was a big challenge to return to school like this. A lot of long hours reading, studying and paper writing, something I am not used to doing. But praise the Lord for good travel conditions to Toronto for the Monday evening classes.
I will be hanging up my tools at the end of March. This will bring to a close my carer as an auto mechanic and retreading to my new position with Open Road Chapel. Interim I will be supplementing my income to provide finances for the short time. I will continue more theological studies, raising my support and continuing to wait upon the Lord.
Our approved financial budget is four thousand dollars per month including personal and ministry needs. Presently we have $700 per month with gratefulness to the Lord. Our challenge is the remaining $3300 per month. Our records indicate our monthly support varies from $50, $100, $150, to $250 per month. All methods of payment are available including credit card, automatic withdrawal or postdated cheques. The enclosed information explains in detail how easy it is to join our team. I would enjoy personally meeting with new partners and sharing first hand ministry updates.
Most of you know my original plan was to travel with Don Harrison to Winnipeg and participate in the planting of the chapel. After meeting with the committee, it was suggested time would be more beneficial extending my theological training, raising my personal support , and to be available for the sale of our home. It is imperative to complete my financial budget, complete this portion of training and be ready for a busy year ahead.
As you may or may not know, Donna works in the Open Road Chapel office one day a week. They have been the process of upgrading the computer system which is taking lots of time and new understanding. A lot of new things can be done once they learn how to use the new program. Change is the word of the day in our household these days.
As we enter this blessed Easter season; let us mourn over the death of JEsus on the cross and all it represents; then rejoice in the resurrection.
