This morning I was reading our Christmas letter; oh how the time flies. It was great to enjoy our first Christmas in our home. With that behind us spring is here and flowers should start to bloom soon.
We continue to enjoy ministry at our church; busy with many activities. They continue to provide personal products that Lynn and Gary give to drivers. We are pleased that Bradford Baptist has joined us in this ministry. Ray and Faith Clark delivered their contribution toward this ministry. Drivers appreciate the thoughtfulness behind these gifts.
Lynn is busy at the truck stop meeting new drivers outside and in the driver’s room. The truck stop staff make Lynn feel welcome. With the warm weather coming he looks forward to walking around the parking lot meeting more drivers.
The maintenance man has offered to help with any issues around the chapel. This could be handy as we look at outside improvements. He is one of the original staff when the location opened many years ago.
Lynn and his volunteer chaplain Gary might have another chaplain joining them in ministry. The pastor of Gary’s church is excited about ministry and they are waiting for the paper work from the ORC office to proceed with the application. What a blessing to receive more help from the community.
Jim McCutchen, a local Gideon has been providing New Testaments. We are very grateful for their contribution as they complement our existing material. Lynn has noticed an increase in the number of drivers coming by the chapel taking some of the material.
The Lord had provided the financial need for our home. Upon purchase of our home, it was noted that repairs on the roof would be required in the near future. The repairs are done and we praise the Lord for His provision.
We still have no doctor in Napanee, so we continue to travel to Bradford for our family doctor. Bea has two MRI’s coming up that will require us to return to South Lake Hospital, please pray for her back and hip pain and the test results. Bea’s medication for diabetes has been changed and she is enjoying the improvements.
This past week a tragic accident involving 17 tractor trailers caused the death of one driver. These are not pleasant circumstances but a gentle reminder life can end quickly.
As we look to Easter a reminder of the cost of Salvation and the gift to those who receive it. A message we could not proclaim without the prayers and financial support of our team. Thank you very much for your partnership in our ministry. May you and your family reflect and enjoy this Easter celebration.
